What to gain a ton of weight fast? This is the place. The baked goods are out of this world. I went there to pick up brownies for my wife to give away at work. I decided I wasn't going to buy anything for myself. (Trying to be good and avoid sweets) It just so happened I walked in as the staff was pulling fresh baked cinnamon twists out of the oven. Have you ever been hungry and smelled fresh baked dough? FORGET ABOUT IT! I couldn't not purchase one. It was heaven. Do you need delicious pastries to impress out of town guests? Need to off a cantankerous diabetic wealthy family member? Love delicious baked treats? This is the place for you!

I got the best cinnamon roll. Don’t come here if you’re on a diet. The thing probably was over 2000 calories with walnuts and icing on top. Worth it for a sweet splurge!

I have been wanting to try Sweet Jill’s for soooo long and it was worth the wait!! The cinnamon roll was maybe the best I’ve ever had! Definitely recommend to get it with the nuts and icing on top, it has that perfect mix of textures and crunch. A little annoying they only take cash, but highly recommend this place!

My daughter gave me half of her cinnamon bun and it was amazing. She said it was from Sweet Jill’s in Long Beach. So yesterday I drove there from San Diego only to find that Sweet Jill had so much more than these amazing buns! So I’ll need to return to try more amazing desert from Sweet Jill’s!!

I hold this place in high regard as I recently ordered a cinnamon roll through Uber Eats. I requested the icing to be served on the side, but unfortunately, it was missing when my order arrived. After contacting the lady, she offered to provide a free cinnamon roll with icing if I could come back to the store. Due to having my four-month-old with me, I couldn't make it, but I truly appreciate the gesture. The customer service was exceptional, and I am impressed by the delicious and warm cinnamon roll. I highly recommend this place. I gave the atmosphere at one star because I didn’t see this place in person

Sweet Jill's is a staple of Long Beach and is great. I've been coming here for 15 years now and have never been disappointed. My favorite is the apple pull apart but the apple cinnamon roll is also a go to. The cost is great too.

Edit: They only accept cash. So don't forget. I almost waited in line without it. Good thing is theres are 2 Atms close by. Cinnamon Rolls are the best I've ever had. As a matter of fact, I usually don't like them because they're dry. Not Sweet Jill's Cinnamon Rolls. These are moist and so delicious. The server told us to ask for extra sauce and we listened. It was so good with or without the icing. Staff was very nice too.

As you get closer to the shop you can smell it. That sweet aroma is definitely in the air. Then walking in, it's honestly the perfect sweet treats vibe...like, it's pink and the baked goods in the cases are just so beautiful and aesthetically appealing. I feel like it would be a bakery shop they would use on a Hallmark film or something--simple and pretty. LOL. I feel like their most famous selections are the cinnamon roll and the carrot cake so of course I had to try those. The cinnamon roll is gooey and moist and most certainly a very sweet treat. If you don't want an overload, try sharing it...I don't know if I'm being a big sweets coward, but I would say you could easily split one of their slices between 4 people. Unless of course, you have a power sweet tooth game--then I say go for it and enjoy. :-) The carrot cake is delicious and I would most definitely get that again...if you love carrot cake as a general practice (like I do), I recommend giving this one a try. They also have other varieties of sweets to try depending on one's mood--again, if you have a sweet tooth, I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy most anything they have. On the opposite coin, if you don't really groove on sweet things, this place is not for you. The service is efficient, helpful and friendly. They prefer cash.

Sweet Jill's is a long time family favorite, specifically for their walnut cinnamon roll (icing on the side). I love that this homey bakery has barely changed in the 12 years I've been going. Today I was a little disappointed by the chocolate cupcake with cheesecake frosting -- it tastes like a dry chocolate muffin. 2/5 stars. The walnut cinnamon roll was given with disappointingly few nuts! I've never seen them serve with so few. 3/5 stars.

This place is not a blast from the past, it is more like a nostalgic twister here for a whisper. Its displays are filled with the classic baked goods of yesteryears that make me want to sample many from classic and timeless chocolate cupcakes and fudge slices to Snickerdoodles and Strawberry upside down cakes. Nothing here is modern--- do not expect to taste a deconstructed pistachio Angel cake with boysenberry-bacon frosting, look for that or the kin at a different spot. I had three chocolate Macarons and they were a true delight! The chocolate that covered parts of the cookie was thick and tasted it like a proper coat of chocolate. The chocolate had not melted- it remained wonderfully intact, and the inside of the macarons were fluffy to an evident sight. I also had a chocolate cake slice and I look forward to eat it alongside milk. I do not think I could have eaten the cake slice without milk. The cake slice deserves its proper companion. To not have the cup of milk as I spooned chocolate to my face was a missed opportunity that I did not want to participate in. Meaning, that the cake slice inspired me to look forward to eating it with certain graces that needed to be observed, otherwise the cake slice would be dishonored. Yeah, the baked good here were quintessential examples of the classics and the classics must be respected. You would not eat a classic burger without fries cause that would disrespect the process, same deal with the baked goods here. I ordered a cup of ice coffee here and I will see that it was tragic. It tasted like a mix of muddled flavors. It was a miss. A huge miss. The second time I went there I met the owner. Yes I met Jill the Sweet. I was ready to ask her a question that I am sure so many people wonder--- why do you not accept credit cards? I have heard lore that she does not accept credit cards because she wants to keep the nostalgic twister whirling--- you know cause back in the day credit cards were not the way. She explained that credit cards charge her restaurant for the use. So she does not want to do that cause then she would have to raise the prices to compensate. I heard everything she said, and I understood, but I still want credit cards to be accepted. Sometime people do not have cash till the next day of pay, or they want to use their credit card for the miles, but the bottom line is that credit cards can be used more easily than cash. At least I think. Go to this place. And go with cash. I am not sure how one restrains themselves in a bakery but an effective way is to take only a bit of cash to not want to get everything your eyes see.
